The Venture Crew for 2006 visited Siler Country Store, located in the Siler community, north of Gainesboro on Brush Creek and Siler roads. The store fills a need for people passing through or who live in that remote section of Frederick County.

The backpackers enjoyed fair, but cool weather for their weekend trek.

The crew's backpacking weekend featured a hike on a portion of the Tuscarora Trail. The hike included a visit to the Siler Store.
